Sharp Air Purifier a family favourite

Sharp's Air Purifiers and Ion Generators with Plasmacluster Ion (PCI) technology won the Best Home Appliance category for the second year running at the Japan Mother's Society Awards, taking home the Mother's Selection Award.

The awards are voted by the mothers of Japan to support the development of family-friendly products and services.

"PCI technology has proved incredibly successful in Asia and Australia. For families affected by allergies, or with young children who are naturally more susceptible to bacteria and viruses, this technology brings comforting relief ."

Sharp Air Purifiers and Ion Generators with PCI technology was selected by the Japan Mother's Society  for effectiveness in reducing both viruses and allergies in the home, caused by pollen, house dust, and mould.

The PCI technology releases both positive and negative ions into the air, similar to those found in nature. The cluster ions diffuse throughout the room, surrounding airborne allergens and turning them into harmless substances like water. This process also reduces unpleasant household odours to maintain a cleaner, fresher living environment.

Sharp is the first company in the world to successfully replicate nature's own air purification process utilizing both positive and negative ions. PCI technology is patented in over 40 countries worldwide and is exclusive to Sharp.
