Kym Secretary and Temporary Marketing Coordinator Technical Services Division & Marketing
As a working parent, my primary objective is balancing both work and family life. I find this balance working at Sharp. Since starting in February 2006, I have been working in a part time job share arrangement. This allows me to spend quality time with my family as well as enjoy a challenging career. I am responsible for providing senior administrative support to Technical Services Division and Marketing Departments. Every day is different, so being organised is crucial. A flexible approach is also required with the changing needs of each department. I am very happy to be working for a company that provides its’ employees the opportunity to job share, cross train and cover in other departments when necessary. This year in addition to my permanent secretarial role, I have been afforded the opportunity to cover a part time maternity leave vacancy in our Marketing department. When asked what I most like about working at Sharp my answer is “the flexibility and the very friendly people”. |

Joe Engineer Document Solution Centre
This year, 2012 is my 13th year working for Sharp Corporation. I joined Sharp China in 1999 and in May 2008 moved to Sharp Australia on an intra company transfer. The objective of my role is the effective and efficient provision of hardware, software and connectivity support to the Oceania group for our extensive range of copier devices. This involves new product training, field support, production of technical documentation and liaison with head office on product quality. To successfully perform this role, it is important to be a highly motivated individual with a keen interest for new technologies. There are many things that I like about working at Sharp, the main highlights for me would be the job satisfaction that comes with introducing new and cutting edge technologies to our clients and the technical problem solving. |

Amanda Human Resources & Administration Assistant Human Resources Department
VARIETY, variety and more variety that is how I would describe my job at Sharp! Whilst my daily work involves an array of routine HR administrative tasks, a large component of my job is variable. The HR team is continually generating new initiatives for staff including competitions, health and well-being programs, fund-raisers and celebratory events. I am heavily involved in the organisation and promotion of these initiatives. Organisational skills are essential in this fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Since my role is so broad there is always a lot happening at any given time. Flexibility is also a must, new items are guaranteed to pop up each day requiring attention and a change of priorities. My days are certainly kept interesting! With 18 months service I am one of the newer employees here at Sharp, the key thing I noticed when starting was that everyone is so friendly - working with great people is so important when such a significant amount of our time is spent in the office! |

Nguyet Product Manager Solar Solar Division
I have been working at Sharp in a full time capacity since November 2000. During this time, I have held various interesting and challenging roles within several departments at Sharp. The organisation strongly encourages internal promotion and provides us all with great opportunities for learning and development. This has allowed me to explore my interests and allow career progression. As a Product Manager, my responsibilities include: market research and analysis, product monitoring and distribution, fiscal product planning and monthly forecasting as well as provision of sales support. My role requires a high level of analytical and organisational skills as well as exceptional communication. In addition to the challenges of my role, my fellow colleagues make my working day very enjoyable. |

Warren Colour Product Specialist and Field Supervisor Sharp Direct
My job is to provide technical support and service for a range of colour & high end black and white copiers to our external client base as well as our customer support technicians. The position demands excellent customer service skills, as well as a very detailed and accurate approach to all service work. I am very picky on colour quality and pride myself in achieving a high level of customer satisfaction and a zero recall rate. The things that help me in my role are my electronics qualifications, as well as my height. I am quite tall so I can carry a lot of spare parts into each call. I've been involved with Sharp products for 16 years now, but since joining Sharp in 2006, I have enjoyed all aspects of my job such as the freedom of organising my own workload and spare parts stock. What I like most about working at Sharp is the interaction I have with many different people during each day, friendly staff, the atmosphere and the employee benefits such as staff discounts & a great company car. |
