Sharp Corporation, on the switch for Earth Hour

For the sixth year running, Sharp Corporation of Australia will join the global Earth Hour movement on Saturday 23rd March 2013, reinforcing its commitment to reducing its impact on the environment.

From 8.30pm on Saturday, Sharp’s eco-friendly LED illuminated advertising sign on Lavender Street, North Sydney will be switched off for the hour. Sharp’s offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra will also power down in support of Earth Hour for the entire night.

In line with Sharp Corporate responsibilities, Sharp is hosting a recycling event on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th March 2013 from 8am to 4pm for its local community. The community is invited to bring any old TV’s or computers to Sharp at 1 Huntingwood Drive, Huntingwood where they will be able to recycle these goods at no cost. Sharp will ensure that all products are disposed of in an efficient, effective and environmentally sustainable manner.
